McCloud- Where Heaven Meets Earth.

On Friday my family and I went up to McCloud for a friends wedding. This was my first time to McCloud but I have always heard grat things about it. I absolutely loved it! McCloud is a very small city practically at the base of Mt. Shasta. The view from the whole town is breathe taking. As well as that the people there are so incredibly nice.

This is a picture of Mt. Shasta from a neighborhood I walked through. What I loved the most was the small town feeling and that everything was in walking distance.

The first night I was there my family and I went to the McCloud Inn which is a hotel as well as a restaurant there. I chose the herb crusted sole with rainbow potatoes and green beans on the side. It was absolutely delicious, the sole was perfectly cooked and the herb crust was light but packed with flavor. The potatoes were divine! They were roasted with a little salt and oil. They were so simple yet so wonderful. This place is popular so make sure to make a reservation ;)

For dinner my last night I ate at I little cafe at the end of the Main Street called White Mountain Cafe. I ordered the stake sandwich. This 10oz steak sandwich came with fries and all the fixin's on the side. After my first bite I was in heaven. The meat was cooked perfectly and the bread was just as delicious.
After that I finished off my meal with a homemade boysenberry cheesecake that one of the waitresses made. The crust was thin and crumbly, the cheesecake was sweet and creamy, and the boysenberry topping was tart but it balanced out the dessert. Aside from the food the main reason I really liked this resturant was because of the staff. They were so nice and greeted you right away, then they carry actual conversations with you. They know the regulars and their orders and they treat the visitors just as well as the locals. This is a great place when you are looking for some small town lovin' and some great food!
